Why on the Cathay Pacific page does it say minimum of 250 hours but ATPL exam credits. You need 1500 for the ATPL. I’m confused can somebody please explain!?
The answer is that Cathay Pacific hires pilots from all over the World and the foreign (European and Asian) ATPL requirements are far different that those in the US. Most notably European pilots are required to take 14 exams to earn their ATPL, BUT, they also are not required to complete any version of the ATP CTP course prior to taking their exams. So what Cathay Pacific is saying is you need a minimum of 250hrs AND you have to have all your ATPL exams completed.
all of their ATPL? Or the us atpl. I’m confused. Thank you
Either way you need to have your ATPL exams complete. CP doesn’t really care that the rules rae different here or in Europe. If you want to go to Europe and take the 14 exams you can. Here in the US to take your ATPL written you must have 1500hrs. Not sure what’s confusing?
