Alaska FO IOE, April ‘22

Overall 53 hours flown, receiving 79 hours of pay and 21 days off!

Woohoo! OE. Was. Epic!!! Look at this schedule! Vegas, Honolulu, Puerto Vallarta, and SE Alaska! Seriously??? This felt like a paid vacation.

OE was pretty stress free. I had a month off before OE but I worked hard during sim and I kept my skills sharp for OE. That investment allowed me to enjoy the experience as much as I could. I basically ate my way through OE on the beach, or at least as close to it as I could get (even in ANC).

Now, it’s time to pay my dues on reserve. On the bright side, I already have 250+ pilots below me. Let’s go!

Tory,

That sounds like a fun OE! How are you liking the 737? Big difference coming from the E175?

Kyle

I love it! I will confess, I didn’t at first, but it quickly grew on me. Nothing against the 175, the 737 is very much a pilot’s airplane which makes it really fun to fly.

Tory,

Looks like a fun schedule! I have heard from numerous sources that the Boeing is much more of the “pilot’s airplane.”

Sweet schedule!! I’m jealous! How long are you estimating on reserve?

Hannah

I’m being told only 2-3 months!
