Are all PPL same?

Do the various pilot licenses have grades? Like one CPL is better grades than others? Like we have GPA?

How do airline know if one pilot fresh out of the school is better

Nikhil,

No. A pilot license is a pilot license. There are 3 licenses and a variety of ratings. You either pass the tests and earn the license or you don’t. The only possible differences are the categories and classes of the licenses which dictate your privileges. For example you could earn your CPL in a single engine land airplane in which case you’d only have single engine land privileges.

Nikhil,

The licenses themselves do not have grades. Determining which recent graduate is the better pilot is both objective and subjective. Assuming that each applicant has the same licenses and hours, an airline will determine which one is the better applicant by testing their technical knowledge and asking scenario-based questions to get a sense of each pilot’s experience level, decision making skills, attitude, etc.
