Hi I’m 20 and want to attend ATP Flight School I saw there was a change from the training that instead of 9 months now is 7 Months from zero those anyone know what where the changes ?

The program was actually originally even shorter but went up to 9mos due to the shortage of FAA examiners. Since there weren’t enough examiners students couldn’t progress and were getting stalled in the process. The training itself hasn’t really changed it’s simply there’s more examiners so ATP was again able to shorten the footprint.

A shorter footprint is good news for you. Less time between stages in the program, means more currency and proficiency. Plus getting your ratings sooner, means building hours sooner and getting to the regionals faster.

In large part the reduction in time came from the FAA getting their act together and having more Designated Pilot Examiners available to conduct checkrides. The training footprint is still the same.
