I am trying fly out of Boise once complete with training, but as far as im aware Boise doesn’t have any hubs.
Do crews always have to begin at a hub and then commute to the smaller airports or are there places like Boise that have another method?

If you live in Boise and don’t want to move commuting will most definitely be in your future if you want to fly for an airline.
The alternative are some cargo carriers and 135 (charter, corporate) gigs that may allow you to be home based and will fly you to wherever your trip begins.

That is correct. That’s why airlines have hubs.

Skywest has a E-175 base in Boise. It’s also a very junior base and one given right out of training….
