Considering becoming a pilot

Hello! My name is Adrienne and I am a 26 year old young professional, currently working a corporate job. I have been considering the idea of becoming a pilot and have some questions and concerns that I would like to ask someone who is either a current student or a graduate. If there is anyone who would like to connect with me, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Adrienne,

Your post is exactly the reason this forum was created. Please take some time to visit the FAQ section as it outlines the process and covers many common questions and concerns. There are also tons of threads by people with the same concerns as yours. Finally please feel free to post any specific questions you have and we’ll be happy to answer them directly.

Hey Adrienne!
Absolutely! Adam said it well, you’ve come to the right place! I am 27 and a recent grad of ATP. Two years ago I quit my job and started as a zero time student so I can relate! Now I’m at training for my first jet job! Any questions you have, feel free! We’re here for you!

Adrienne,
I am in the same position to you. I’d love to know what information you find out as well as you do your research.

Hi Kaylee,

I’d recommend like our mentors mentioned to take a peek at the FAQs and ATP’s website. I reassure you will find almost every answer you might possibly have, even though there may be a few stragglers that you have unanswered. Which these guys (mentors) do an awesome job answering!

I was once in both of your positions during my time prior to ATP and I spent a decent amount of time on ATP’s website scrolling through each page, as well as through the forums. If you’re looking for what it’s like to be a student, there is a “Student Experiences” thread that students (like myself) post updates from our training and what goes on. There is also the “ATP Admissions, Housing, Finance” thread as well for things along those lines. Though for financing, it’s probably better to give Financing a call and get some person to person answers as you may feel more secure sharing personal information.
