Do the major airlines care if your college is regionally accredited or nationally accredited?

The regional vs national accreditation is really a matter of credit acceptance more than anything else. Short answer as no either is fine.

Generally yes. Right or wrong, for profit schools have been getting a lot of bad press over the years and that has reflected very poorly on all of them.
