Dress code for men's hair

can male students have long hair ? can I tie them ?

Gurmehar,

While many airlines have relaxed their dress codes they all stipulate hair can’t be below your collar nor can it be tied.

Gurmehar,

Straight from my airline’s Flight Operations Manual;

“Hair will be kept neat, well groomed, and cut to a reasonable length (i.e. not
over the lower half of the forehead and not over the lower half of the ear or
below the ear opening, and not below the top of the shirt collar). Hair must
be groomed to allow the uniform hat to appear normal if worn.”

Men’s hair whether facial or otherwise has become quite the topic lately… it must be the search engine algorithm :face_with_monocle:

yess Pilot you’re right. I really hope they ease up the hair policy for male pilots. Some men would even be ready to tie it neat under the cap.

I think that’ll be my clue it’s time to retire.

Yep, when that happens I am throwing in the towel.

Throwing in the towel due to someone’s personal preference for longer hair? I don’t see how the length of a man’s hair will effect their abilities to fly.

Adam,

A policy is a policy, can’t adhere to company standards, you’ll need to find a new career.

And I don’t see how having to get a haircut would curtail someone’s “dream” of being a pilot?

Abilities and attitude towards their chosen profession are 2 very different things.

I agree, I misunderstood. I understood it as you were willing to give it all up if policy changed.
