Electronic logbook 2023

Hey everyone. What is everyone using for electronic logbooks? Are there ones that the airlines prefer of integrate with?

Brad,

I use Logten Pro. I actually used Foreflight up to 1500 hours, but then switched to Logten since that seemed to be the most popular amongst the pilots at the airlines. Both are very similar and are great. Regardless, I also still keep a neat paper logbook because I’m old school!

Brad,

You may use any electronic logbook as you wish: Coradine LogTen Pro, ForeFlight, APDL, and the list goes on. I also keep a paper logbook as well; I like to double, and triple check my numbers to what the electronic is. The nice feature of LogTen Pro with airlines is that you can import your schedule right to it and update it as the trip goes.

Brad,

So far in the program, I’ve found Foreflight to be very helpful. Since you already need Foreflight, the logbook portion is essentially free and it automatically tracks your flights (I assume via GPS) and then makes estimates on the times. It’s been very helpful as well for ensuring that my hours match up with my paper logbook and I’m doing all my math correctly.

Brad,

Log ten pro is by far the most popular for airline pilots. Foreflight is convenient but once you make it to the regionals, you probably won’t want to keep paying the yearly subscription just to keep your logbook. I used PilotPro but the problem is, one day you’ll need to transfer all that data over to the platform you will use for the long term. Plus once you graduate from the program, the ATP Alumni association offers a great discount! Looking back, I would have chosen LogTen from the beginning and saved myself a ton of time and hassle transferring hundreds of hours over by hand.

The best feature of LogTen Pro IMO is the map analysis which shows pin drops of every airport in your logbook.
