Eye problem

i have myopia and my both eyes are 2.75 and also a mild squint can i become a pilot

Joshua,

You will need to contact an FAA medical examiner as only they are qualified to answer those types of questions.

Chris

Joshua,

As Chris said you really need to contact an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) but generally if you vision is correctable to 20/20 you’re ok. If not you’re not.

Does anyone else find it odd that you you need the same “Special Issuance” for loss of an eye (Monocular Vision) as reduced acuity of OD 20/15 - OS 20/50. I know - them’s the rules!

I doubt that it is the same Special Issuance. The FAA has developed procedures for each and every type of medical situation. While the tests may be the same, they are looking for unique attributes that allow a pilot to perform to the same specifications as those that do not have medical issues.

what about my mild squint eyes
can you give me a AME TO CONTACT because i don’t know an AME

Joshua,

It really depends on how much it effects your vision. Use the link Chris provided or just Google.
