Fatigue mgt: FRMS, what else?

How often do you interact w FRMS ? Or any other fatigue mgmt tool of your own ?

Not often. FRMS places the responsibility on both the pilot and the airline equally. Since we’re both potentially at risk the airline’s scheduling software does a good job of monitoring our hours and rest and they’ll usually get a “flag” before we’re aware of a problem. That said we as pilots must monitor ourselves as well. You can’t say “oh I was counting on the company to let me know” even though they usually will.

Every time I get caffeine from a Diet Coke. Other than that, FRMS is not something that I actually think about, I just go to work and make it happen.
