Would you ever finish a trip at an airport different than the one you started in but still covered in your base? Say, starting at Newark and finishing at LaGuardia?

No. Trips have to start and end at the same airport. If for some reason it did end at the other airport, the company would have to provide transportation back to the originating airport and you would be paid for your time.

What does deadhead mean?

Deadhead means to ride as a passenger on company business. Usually this means flying to some city to pick up an airplane.

Oh ok
