Fresh Graduate Question

Hello, my name is Ryonosuke Toyoda i am new to the blog. I want to know about fresh gradutates after we finish our professional pilot programme, can we directly apply to airlines for a job as a first officer? Thank You

Ryonosuke,

In order to fly for an airline you’re required by law to have 1500hrs of flight time. You’ll graduate from the program with around 250 meaning you’ll need to build an additional 1250 before you’d be eligible to be an airline FO. This is most commonly accomplished by flight instructing which is why ATP guarantees all successful students instructor jobs at the location of their choice.

Adam

Ryonosuke,

You can apply as early as 500 hours, if you’re interested in tuition reimbursement, but 1500 hours total time is still required before you can fly for an airline as an FO.
