Varshil,
Thank you for the update. Don’t worry about the taxiing, that will come soon.

Chris
Varshil,
Thanks for checking back in, we are honest when we say the program is accelerated; I think some think we’re joking… As Chris said, the taxiing will come, it just takes practice and separating the concept of driving in a car to maneuvering a plane on the ground.
Brady
Varshil,
Thanks for the update! Glad to hear your body is adapting well. The cooler fall and winter months are best for people prone to motion sickness. So good timing there! Taxiing will come. Just takes more practice!
Hannah
Thank you Chris, Hannah and Brady
Just started my TOL’s had 2 flights. In the first TOL flight, I didn’t get anything right. Therefore, watched some videos to understand better and went over and over again with the traffic pattern. Then, I did some chairflying. With consistent practice and reviewing, my second TOL flight went excellent. However, I am still struggling with my landing.
Varshil,
Landings take time. More time for some than others. I still have my good ones and my not so good ones. Work with your instructor, maybe ask to fly with another instructor to get a different perspective.
Chris
Any recommendations for studying such as sources or apps to successfully pass all written prior to start date?
Chase,
In the past we recommended Sporty’s Free Study Buddy for the PPL and Sheppard Air for all the remaining exams. Unfortunately Sporty’s has stopped offering the Study Buddy test prep and Sheppard Air doesn’t offer one. There are however some other free online test preps. I’d do some Googling and see what you like.
Adam
I have been a long time fan of King Schools and the courses they offer. I used them for all of my written prep.
Chris
Chase,
As we are unsure of what truly happened the Sporty’s Test Buddy App, I know I have been putting in some searches in my off time when I get a minute to find a new product that I could recommend (without actually diving into it). Hannah mentioned on another thread about the ASA App for the PAR, maybe check that out?
If you have an instructor, maybe check with what they recommend, we are open to suggestions and feedback as well.
Brady
Chase,
I used ASA for my private and was very pleased with it. The app used to be free (I think it still is), if not still relatively cheap. King schools is also great, but you’ll pay a bit more for it.
Hannah
Inflation must have hit this app along with my two-cents… it’s now $9.99 for purchase. I’m with Hannah here, pay the $9.99 and try the application out. Plus looking at screenshots it looks like Sheppard Air almost and that’s a nice feat.
Brady
Just a heads up to anyone looking for Sporty’s - It still exists but it has been rolled into their app that supports the purchase of their “Learn to Fly” online ground school, Sporty’s Pilot Training - However, you do not need to purchase the learn to fly course in order to get to the Test Prep which still appears to be pretty similar to what it was.
