Major transition

how log is the average f jumping from regional to major?
and is it depends on the regional i am?

Juan,

I’m not really certain what you’re asking? I don’t know what an “f” is or “regional i am”?

Adam

adam,

what i would like to know is the average time to jump from regional to major
i have been told is 10 years, others say is 5 or 7 years.

juan

Juan,

I’d say the average, IN THE CURRENT ENVIRONMENT, is 5-7 years. That said I know people who have taken 10 or even 20. There are literally no guarantees and some never get the call.

Adam

which do you consider is the most difficult major to get in or the easiest?

Juan,

Flying for a Major airline is the pinnacle of this career and industry. With that in mind there is no “easiest” Major. Major airlines look for experienced professional pilots with exemplary records, strong resumes and people they believe will “fit” their corporate culture. You simply cannot think in terms of difficult or easy. Work hard, network and chose a Major you’d like to fly for and apply. If you get hired it won’t be because it was “easy” it will be because you earned the position.

All of the majors are difficult to get hired on at. They are all selective and they can be so because their applicants far outweigh their openings.
