I was curious to know if majors like UPS and FEDEX were being furloughed or if they had reduced flights.

From what I understand, cargo airlines are actually benefiting from the pandemic. Hospitals and the like need medical supplies and consumers are looking to e-commerce to avoid the lines.

I friend of mine who flies for FedEx told me they’ve actually brought some stored aircraft out of the desert to handle the added capacity.

How come major cargo carriers strive in rough times and passenger airlines demand decline?

Our global economy is dependent on cargo; air, road, rail, ship, etc. People need stuff. Stuff has to get from A to B. People (majority) don’t NEED to travel or they can’t afford to when the economy dips.

Haven’t you bought more things off of Amazon since this began than you were doing before? We live in an economy that strives off of two day delivery, that does not change because of the virus. If anything, it has torn as people are afraid of going out in public.
