If your son, got a medical, then starting taking those meds, he might currently be in violation of his medical certificate if he flies. Just because a person has a medical, does not mean that they are cleared to fly no matter what. There are several conditions and medications that are immediately grounding to a pilot. I recommend that he check with his Aviation Medical Examiner before his next flight and especially before he solos.
