I’m high school students right now I want to become a pilot when I graduate. But I have high blood pressure condition with me and I’m currently taking a medicine called Lisinopril 10mg and my highest blood pressure without medicine is about 150 and normal with medication blood pressure is about 120 but can I still become a pilot with these condition??
Eric,
You’ll have to consult an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) to be certain. They may suggest a different medication if the one you’re on isn’t FAA approved.
That said I can tell you I’ve been on high BP meds for longer than you’ve been alive and it shouldn’t be a problem (depending on the cause).
Adam
Thank you so much!
