Is $800 for the MEI and $600 for the add-ons the norm? That’s what the DPEs in my area charge. Some even charge full price for a re-check. Do you remember what you paid for these checkrides?

Rates can vary from area to area but that sounds pretty normal. Supply and demand my friend.

Rates in CA last year for regular rides were $500. I think the MEI in Vegas
is $800 now.
Most examiners charge half for a recheck.
