Just curious: I’m beginning the process of training at my local airport. Once I obtain my commercial rating, what is the multi-engine training like, as well as CFI training? How long does it take, on average?
Benjamin,
I really can’t speak to the training that you will receive at your local airport. I can tell you that at ATP, your multi training would be a few days long and would consist of bringing you up to speed on a new airplane and introducing you to multi-engine aerodynamics.
CFI training at ATP is a few weeks long. As to the length of time at other schools, it can vary widely.

Benjamin,
You could bang out both in 3 weeks or you could take 3 years. It’s really up to you and how much time you can devote to your training. Consistency is key and if you can fly daily you’ll save yourself a lot of time and money.
