I’m a 20 year old college student with my private pilot. I was looking into making aviation a career instead of just a hobby. But sadly when I was 17 I was convicted of a felony breaking and entering. If I wanted to pursue aviation further what are the odds I would be able to get a job?
I will be honest, I think you might have a hard time getting a job. The airlines are not big fans of crimes, especially felonies. You could very well have problems entering Canada, which would completely exclude you from the job. I would contact the recruiting departments of several regional airlines and ask.
Even a job as a cfi or possibly a small skydiving dz?
There’s a huge pilot shortage and there’s always work to be found. Do well in training, keep yourself SQUEAKY clean and who knows where you might end up.
Nobody knows the odds. Best you call some regionals and see what they say.
