Pilot Facility Use

Hello all,

My question is do pilots get a dedicated facilities for them to chill in like a crew lounge while waiting/doing pre flight prep. Would this only be in hub cities? Also, do airline pilots get free access to that airlines’ lounges? Specifically @Chris do United pilots get to use Polaris lounges before a deadhead or flying off duty?

Luc,

Generally crew lounge are only available at crew bases and some hubs.

Crews are generally not allowed in First Class lounges etc unless they enroll and pay. Those who do are required to not be in uniform.

Luc,

We have crew rooms at all of our bases. These usually consist to some comfortable chairs, televisions, wifi, and in United’s case, dedicated sleep rooms. The customer lounges are reserved specifically for customers and that is a good thing.

Chris

Thanks for the answers.
