Random Thought

This is just one of my many random thoughts. How do airlines get hotel rooms for their crews when major events are going on? Lets say the super bowl. Does the airline have contracts with the hotels that account for this? Or are they paying a pretty penny to put their crews up in hotels those nights?

Tucker,

The airlines contract with hotels for their crews. Many airlines have “long” and “short” overnights, the short being at the airport. On rare occasions (Super Bowl is a great example) it can be an issue in which case they may have to find alternate accommodations but again that’s rare. In many cases they’ll just use the short.

Tucker,

Generally we temporarily switch away from hotels that are impacted by large events as the crew members do not want the hassle of all the extra traffic and road closures.
