Second Career as a commercial pilot - at age 43

Greetings,

I’m turning 43 this year, and looking into pursuing second career as a commercial pilot (eventually). I understand this will be a long journey and requires a full commitment and dedication. I’m currently looking for a flight school in Northern VA area, but more importantly a mentor(s). I would greatly appreciate any recommendation, guidance, or directions from the experts in the Airline Pilot community.
