Senior Year of High School

Just a question for all, I was wondering what are some good Universities that have aviation programs? Any college you could name would be great. Or maybe some good companies that could help with getting my foot in the door for getting an aviation related job. Any information helps. Thanks to all Michael.

Michael,

It really all depends on what your goals are. You say “aviation related”, does that mean pilot or something else? Plenty of schools offer aviation programs, Embry Riddle being the first to come to mind. Be careful when considering their flight program though, it can be very expensive.

Michael,

There are many fine university programs. Both at larger and smaller schools. What’s most important when it comes to universities you want one accredited by the FAA so it would help you qualify for reduced hours R-ATP. Here’s a list from the FAA: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjdhOKUteHRAhVslVQKHd3oCfwQFggaMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.faa.gov%2Fpilots%2Ftraining%2Fatp%2Fmedia%2Finstitutional_authority_list.pdf&usg=AFQjCNHza71sepdXfw3kNvtno7u19KQTOA&sig2=83k2GNMUTMeQK4q7XegWvA

As for the rest of your question, what exactly do you want to do? If you simply want to be in an aviation related field you can save a ton of money and time not being a pilot. There are many jobs that don’t require a degree. Everything from ramper /cleaner to Flight Attendant. Sooooo what is it you want to do?
