(Introduction)
My name’s Rubin Lopez from NYC, Got my Pre approval and agreed to the 9.9% interest rate unfortunately My parents couldn’t cosign my loan, my credit score is 773* for transunion (what sallimeie uses) I also have about 15 hours of logged time from another school I started but decided it would take me too many years to complete my 250 hours.
I’m super excited to get started if any students or Pilots have any suggestions for me please leave them here :muscle::v:

I secured a loan through Sallimeie, I figure I leave that information because other people who have a similar situation can get an idea of what their interest rate will look like. I’ll be doing the Flex track program since I’m unable to be available at 8am my availability starts at 10am but I hope to still be able to be done with the program within the same amount of time…

Rubin,

Keep in mind that class dates for Flex Track are currently full. As of right now, it looks like this will continue to at least mid to late Spring of 2022.

Addison, is this the case for all locations or is it specific to where Rubin wants to attend?

Does ATP only do a certain number of Flex classes a year?

Rubin,

I know you mentioned you are hoping to be able to be done with the program on almost as quickly of a timeline as the Fast Track Program - is working the reason that your availability is not until 10am? Keep in mind you can include additional funds into the finance option to cover bills (housing and living expenses) while training.

I take care of my father during the night and my brother comes out of work at 7am so I wouldn’t be able to get to ATP till about 9:30am but I can stay there as long as possible and also come in on the weekends. But I don’t think I could work around leaving my home before 8am :disappointed_relieved:

Hey Rubin,

I’m in NJ, so I’m assuming you’d come to the branch here side it’s the closest to you. I’m 38 and just signed into the full time 7 month program. I almost backed out of the whole idea because of the rate I got from Sallie Mae, after speaking with Kirk from finance, I was told about Meritize. I got much better interest rate than Sallie Mae and better loan terms as well. And I didn’t need my wife to be a cosigner, since my score is 780.

I suggest you consider them and definitely chat with Kirk, he’ll put you on the right track.

Also, the price for tuition increased as of the 1st of this month by $4000, don’t know if knew that. Best of luck with everything.

Hey thanks for the heads I just applied, let’s see if the interest rate is significantly lower to make a difference (will update) I enrolled before the dead line…also going to the ATP out on the island. It’s actually the same distance in miles but with traffic the Jersey location is about an hour and a half further. Wish I went to one with the full red bird sim though

Thank you, I’m also going for the fast track program since the Flex is on pause until further notice. But someone else on here also mention talks of canceling the Flex track program. Congratulations on making that move, I know first hand how hard it is to leave career you invest so much into while having responsibilities :100::heart::v:

Thanks bro, knowing that I’m not the only one doing this has eased things a little for me. I’m assuming you’re already living more toward the island than the city. I grew up in Queens.
