Couple questions as start date approaches

Hi all

My start date is approaching in November and I’m starting to acquire some of the materials I need. In terms of a kneeboard I’m wondering what y’all suggest. Is it recommended to get one that is compatible with an iPad? Apple keeps changing their iPad dimensions and I’m struggling to find a kneeboard that’s compatible with their newer models.

Also, during my reading I’ve stumbled across writing that mentions getting a student pilot certificate from the FAA. I haven’t been told anything directly from ATP about this unlessI missed it. Do I need to submit an application prior to starting?

You will get your student pilot certificate once you start ATP, don’t worry about it now.

Have you started preparing for the writtens?
