they do.
Angel, Angel, Angel,
Couple of things. First and foremost, before you accepted the job did they tell you what the pay was? (I’m going to assume they did). If so did they promise you more than you’re getting? I’m also going to assume you went to them for a job vs them calling you and begging you to please come work for them. My point is you got an entry level flying job for a company you applied to and they’re paying you what they promised. I’m failing to see the problem?
Fun fact, not too long ago, before all this pilot shortage nonsense many pilots PAID companies to build time. Many Regionals also made newhires pay for their training and then rewarded them with first year pay of $16-18k a year.
In case you’re missing my point a) no one put a gun to your head to take the job you have, b) there are many newly minted pilots who’d gladly take your place in a heartbeat and c) things are lightyears ahead of where they were. With that in mind please remember this is a VERY small industry and in aviation the squeaky wheel doesn’t get the grease, they get unhireable.

You are absolutely correct. Sometimes when looking too far forward, you lose sight of where you are and where you have been. Thank you for the humble pie and the reminder to appreciate every aspect. I will be adjusting my attitude and outlook accordingly.
Angel,
You’ve got to endure a little bit of financial discomfort because you’re surely not going to feel it once you’re at a regional! Pay there is better than ever. Pretty good time to be headed that way…
