I’ve been getting mixed responses and I wonder if anyone here knows of ATP programs that accept the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
Thank you.
Conrad,
The GI Bill is not available for the Airline Career Pilot Program due to the accelerated timeline (although you can use it to cover the cost of examiner fees, approx $10k).
You can use your benefits for the ATP-CTP and the 320 Type Rating courses.

Thank you, Adam.
Is the ATP-CTP useful for someone working toward their ATP? I’m not certain what the difference is between the Airline Career Pilot Program vs the ATP-CTP.
Best Wishes,
Conrad
Conrad,
The ATP-CTP (Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program) is not useful to someone working on their ATP, it’s how you get your ATP.
After you’ve earned all your other licenses and ratings (which you would do with the Airline Career Pilot Program) and then built the required 1500hrs flight time (usually accomplished by flt instruction), you would then complete the ATP-CTP to earn your ATP. In most cases people do this as part of their newhire training at a Regional.
I recommend you spend some time on the ATP website where you’ll find tons of useful information.
Adam
Conrad,
The examiner fees are the one big place you could cash out the GI Bill if you use ATP for flight school. You could utilize much more of it by going through a part 141 university program but it would take 4 years just to complete the basic ratings and then building time from there. You could be done with the program and time building and be at a regional airline by 2 years with ATP.
Do you have any children you could plan to save it for instead? Just a thought…
