Searching for flight schools

I’m 19 years old and currently have my PPL. I just recently unenrolled from ERAU Daytona and was ready to go to ATP but then suddenly was denied admission. I’m currently looking at Liberty online while flying with treasure coast flight school. Im looking for the fastest progression while simultaneously (or after training) completing a degree. Also very important, I cannot pay per flight I’m not in the position to afford that so I need to withdraw a loan to cover the full expenses. Any help on this matter will be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Sebastian,

Not really sure what you’re asking? You saying you’re training with Treasure Coast and want to do your degree with Liberty after withdrawing from ER and getting rejected by ATP.

There’s clearly some underlying issue we’re obviously not aware of. So what’s you’re question?

Sebastian,

Let’s apply a little pressure the toe brakes on here a second and slow down. What I’m gathering in your initial thread is:

  1. Currently have PPL, 19 years old
  2. Was going to attend ERAU and ATP, but unenrolled then denied to both?
  3. Now looking at Liberty University and flying at Treasure Coast Flight School

What was the reason you were denied ATP? Why did you unenroll from ERAU? So many questions I have from this, that I feel maybe you need to start at college first, get some sort of degree. Then proceed with the flying route…

For clarification I started at ERAU and revived my PPL, as you may know Embry is extremely expensive. Deciding to withdraw from Embry I went to ATP, I was denied because the enrollment is competitive (their words). I’m now looking at Liberty University, I’m planning on taking online classes while flying at one of their affiliate schools (Treasure coast). My question to you was what is your personal opinion regarding what I should do and where I should go, additionally have you heard anything about Liberty?
Thank you for your time,
Sebastian

Sebastian,

I don’t know anyone who actually attended Liberty but a quick Google search reveals they’re rated 435 of 439 universities in the country and they have a 99% acceptance rate which means they’re not to picky.

Did you not know the cost of ER BEFORE you started?

Finally I’d find out what (if anything) you need to do to be accepted at ATP, complete your training then get your degree online after.

Adam

Sebastian,

Not trying to be rude, but did you know that every flight school is expensive? Flight training is not cheap, if it was, we wouldn’t have any pilot shortages ever, and the rewards of being an airline pilot wouldn’t be what they are today… I guarantee you will end up paying more to do your flight training lesson-by-lesson than attending an accelerated program or P141.

I think you should focus on college before going for the certificates. There seems to be a discontinuity between realization and fantasy of becoming an airline pilot. If you have your PPL, stay current and proficient, and use that as a way to build cross-country and nighttime flight time, and work on your degree. You will need 500 hours XC and 100 hours nighttime before you can be applicant for the ATP.
