Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your replies to my last question regarding financing. I am preparing to study for all my written exams, and I was wondering how long they are valid once you pass. If I took them this year and next year and began flight training in 2025, would they still be valid assuming I passed?

They’re good for 24 months. If you’re not starting until 2025, you’ll probably want to hold off.

Logan is correct. Each satisfactory exam is only valid for 24 months. So after passing the PAR you would need to be taking the Private checkride before that 24 months expiration date. Same for the IRA, CAX… each will have their own expiration date attached. If you don’t plan to start training until 2025, don’t start taking them until you’re closer to 6-9 months from starting.

I would recommend taking the exams about 6-9 months out from starting ATP, since they are valid for 24 months; as Hannah mentioned.
