Will this current shortage be going on for a while?

Hello,

I was just approved for financing and I have my class 1 coming up at the end of the month. I keep reading about the shortage in the industry and it is getting me excited; however, if I am starting the program within the next 6 months that still leaves me 2.5 years out from starting with a regional. Will there still be a shortage in the foreseeable future? When I get my 300-500 hours and can start applying will the regionals still be fighting over pilots? Thank you in advance!

While none of us have a crystal ball, it does seem like the shortage will continue. Even if it doesn’t, the airlines will still be hiring.
