ATP Loan Options

Hailey,

It is worth calling the admissions department and asking them as they are the experts on all such things.

Chris

Hailey,

Unfortunately at your age with little credit history and a large unsecured loan, you will probably need a co-signer. If that isnā€™t an option, you may want to ask the finance department about the TSS to student program. Basically after two years of employment as a training support specialist for ATP, you can get approved for your loan and transition to a student in the program.

Hailey,

Typically the lenders look to see a 640+ credit score, 2+ years of established credit and no derogatory marks. Iā€™d recommend reaching out to our finance department (904-595-7946) to discuss other options!

Hi Addison!
I as well as my colleague actually both reached out to the financial department, I the 26th of this month and him the month prior. After about an hour of waiting in the que my conversation with a representative lasted under what was roughly a minute and told to look for a different school.

Hailey,

I am sorry that you had to wait on hold so long, demand for Pilot Training has really increased, but hold times should not. I have provided your feedback to the appropriate person.

Chris

Iā€™m in the same situation, but I do not a cosigner.
Iā€™m 21 and I have to push back my pilot program another year

hello everybody, this year i won the diversity visa lottery so i got a brand new green card (iā€™m from italy)
i would like to know if i can apply to the loan with Sallie Mae. i ask that because im new in the country so zero credit history. in your opinion i got a chance or what u can suggest me ?

Serafino,

Youā€™ll need to speak with finance to be sure but Iā€™m thinking youā€™re most definitely going to need a co-signer. These loans are unsecured and the risk is high for the bank. In most cases they want to see a VERY strong credit history or co-signer with one.

Adam

thanks for the answer Adam! iā€™ve sent an email to financing right now ! hoping that they will answer me !

Serafino,

You can also reach out to the main ATP number on the website, Monday-Friday during normal business hours and ask to speak to the finance department. They are great and will know how to best guide you.

Hannah

Wonderful info, thanks Chris

How can I apply to wells Fargo loan ??

Barry,

I could be mistaken but I donā€™t believe ATP is currently working with Wells? Regardless you should contact ATP admin for details and the application process.

Adam

Adam,

I donā€™t think itā€™s just ATP not working with Wells Fargo, I am pretty sure Wells is not doing student loans at all anymore. I tried looking at them when I started and they told me as much.

Hello all,

Iā€™ve got a question on applying for a Sallie Mae loan. I was just now trying to fill one out and selected June 2024 as my start date for the loan, as that is when Iā€™ll be able to start due to graduating undergraduate in May of 2024. However, when I selected that month, it told me that I was not able to apply for that loan due to the start date not being within 10 months of the current date. Am I just going to have to wait until August to apply for the loan, or is there some other action I should be taking? I thought I would get started on the application process now as a junior in college, but it seems as if Iā€™m starting to early, at least when it comes to getting approved loan money from Sallie Mae. Iā€™d appreciate any and all help as I am just now getting into this.

Thanks,

Tyler Kimbrough

Tyler,

Thatā€™s well over a year from now and quite frankly alot can change with a person financially over a year. You could select an earlier class date but the approvals so expire and youā€™d have to reapply anyway.

Iā€™d wait till youā€™re within the 10mos. Thatā€™s plenty of time.

Adam

Iā€™m currently looking into what my options are regarding financing for ATP. I was wondering if any one had any experience with other ways to take loans beside Sallie Mae?

Thanks,

Brandon

Brandon,

There are as many options as you can Google. Have you considered talking to Kirk in the ATP Finance Department? Sallie Mae is ATPā€™s preferred loan provider because they offer the ā€˜Smart Loan Optionā€™ which allows to make amount payments to keep interest low, gives you a grace period, and many other benefits.

Hi my name is Edgar and I recently went into the location here in San Antonio Tx to get more information. Iā€™m 23 years old turning 24 in September with a credit score of 648. My question is with that score will it be enough to cover the 90k cost for the program plus extra to cove personal expenses like rent and bills? Iā€™m relatively new when it comes to loans and things of that nature. Only reason why I ask is because Iā€™m trying to see if it would be financially doable not working even a PT while in school. My wife say she can bear the weight with her current FT but if I can I would like to lesson the load for her with the loan itself? Any input would be appreciated!

Edgar,

All finance questions are best directed to ATP Adminā€™s Finance dept (904-595-7950) as every case is different.

That said while youā€™re score isnā€™t bad, it isnā€™t stellar either so Iā€™m thinking a co-signer will be needed. With that in mind again you need to speak with the people in finance.
