Finish college?

Hey all, I (27m) just started at a community college this semester and am looking for advice. Would it be wise to continue my education here then transfer getting my degree? Or would starting the zero program be a better start? I have read you cant do both at the same time, or it isnt ideal. I am a veteran using my gi bill for CC at the moment.

David,

At 27 you’re not old but you’re not a kid either. I recommend that if you want to be a pilot you get cracking and start flying sooner rather than later. You actually get college credit for your licenses and ratings which will shorten the process later.

David,

Please check out the FAQ section as much of what you ask is answered there.

The short answer though is that at your age, I would recommend getting into the airlines first, then working on your degree. Seniority is everything in the airlines and years spent in college will end up costing you in the long run.

Now you will eventually need a degree for the majors, but you can work on that while flying for the regional airlines.

You just need 2 yrs college or 2 years of work experience to join ATP

David,

At your age I would start flight training ASAP.
