On airlinepilotcentral.com I noticed it has the years of FO with pay and then Captain with pay. Let’s say your a FO for 3 years on a CRJ200 and you get promoted to Captain. Do you start off captain as a year 4 captain pay or do you start off as a year 1 captain pay?
This question gets asked often. The pay year is based on your years at the airline, not the position or aircraft you’re on. If you’ve been at the airline for 5yrs you would get 5yr CRJ-200, 5yr Capt CRJ-700, etc etc etc.
