I would like to join the United Aviate Academy

Good afternoon, my name is Ashanti and I am currently a junior at TSU in my first semester, majoring in Aviation Management.I’m currently trying to applyn for the academy so, I can receive the benefits of the United pilot program. Does Anyone know what steps I should follow to be accepted and start my career as a pilot

Adam

Ashanti,

This forum is sponsored by ATP flight school and led by mentors who are all alumni of the program. If the Aviate program is something you’re pursuing, you can either go through their flight academy and instruct there. Or you can apply and go through a partner pathway program. ATP is a United Aviate partner. Check out the link below:

Ashanti,

That’s great news! From my experience go on the website to apply and you’ll be emailed with further instructions afterwards. Upon completion of interviews and assessments, you’ll be offered a conditional offer to start in a future class date (pending you receive at least a 80 on your PAR, obtain a 1st class medical, and secure funding)

Obtaining funding won’t be a problem with your Private Pilot License (In a CirrusSR20) because it’s completely FREE. On campus housing cuts down the cost of living which is also FREE. Then your remaining balance from other ratings can be divided between several generous organizations that partner with United Aviate to help with the cost of pilot training. So you could end up coming out of pocket little to nothing.

Now with the good out of the way, I’ll give you the veggies! The program it set to hire a very select pool of candidates. That pool is said to be 80% of each class representing minorities and women. The remaining 20% quote traditional students.

So in a nutshell even though it’s very possible to gain access into United’s program. It’s also very difficult. You become a number 1of 10000 application for a slot in a class of 30. Those odds aren’t the best. If successful it could take years to be selected.

Luckily for you ATP Flight School has SEVERAL Airline Partnerships, not just one. That will get you wherever you desire and your work ethic and performance holds. In approximately 7 months.

Both are great options, but the airlines are about time and no one will get you there faster than ATP, Ashanti.

Got it. Definitely cleared my confusion up.
