Is it possible to work more than 85 hours a month as a pilot , to bring in the most money ? I’m not that focused on it but I feel it is a valid question.
You can fly up to 100 hours per month, but 85 is a good estimate as it can be hard to reach 100 with the various limits that the FAA imposes.
James,
I routinely fly in the 90s. There’s also “soft” pay (deadheads, trip and duty rigs) that can get the numbers up.
Adam
James,
It is possible. Just to clarify, I’m assuming you mean 85 hours of flight
time, not just work. 85 hours of work is easy to achieve since the program
requires ground and AATD (sim) instruction.
85 hours of flying per month depends on a lot of different factors like
weather, maintenance, number of students assigned to you, what phase of the
program your students are in, how many days per week you are willing to
work, fatigue, etc.
Tory
James,
I thought your question was CFI specific. Sorry. 85 hours per month as an
airline pilot is easy.
