Is there anyone here who has learned to fly through the military? And would he/she recommend doing so?
Anatha,
While I’ve never served I fly with many pilots who have and ALL agree on this. If you’re desire is to serve your country and commit a good portion of your life to the military then by all means. But if you’re simply looking for free flight training it’s a terrible idea. The military doesn’t just hand out pilot slots and even if you get one it means many years of commitment to service and potential risk to your life.
It’s definitely a noble and respected route to flying but by far not the easiest, fastest or best.

Thank you, Adam. And I realize after reading my post that I miswrote what I was trying to say. I agree that serving would be an honor!
To my knowledge, we do not have any military pilots on this forum. If you want to serve, by all means do so, but if you want to go to the airlines, then the civilian route is in many ways a better path.

Thank you Chris. God will show me which path to take!
