Essentially what the title states. I received my PPL around 2 years ago but haven’t flown since then and my currency has since ran out. I was wondering what my options look like to be able to get me back up to speed and into the program. Thanks!
Lanc,
You just need to get flying again! Go up with a CFI and do some proficiency flying and when you’re ready complete a basic flight review. After that apply to start credit private.

Lanc,
Not to be curt but I really don’t understand your question? If you’re not current then get current!?! You can do it up the road or reach out to ATP and see if they can get you in early and get you current.
Regardless to receive credit for your PPL you need to be a current AND proficient PPL or you’ll already be behind on Day 1.

Adam,
I understand I need to get current, I was just wondering if ATP had any sort of early program which would allow me to get current through them rather than with my local airport. I got off the phone with admissions and was told that no such programs existed and that I had to do it prior to scheduling my start date.
Lanc
Lanc then there’s your answer.
On occasion, (I believe) if there’s airplane and instructor availability they might be able to help but if not it’s on you to get current.
Adam
Lanc,
Even without asking Admissions, to be an applicant for ATP, you must be current. Other than currency, you should be proficient and able to complete the practicality of PVT ACS upon entering ATP. ATP’s program is accelerated and there is no time to wiggle your way with just meeting the minimums.
I would recommend a few flight lessons with a local CFI to get back up to speed, ensure you could pass a PVT checkride with maneuvers etc., before entering ATP.

I second the others here, you need to go out to a local flight school and get current. That means truly current, as though you could take a PPL check ride and pass, not just current on paper.
