Hello All -
Does ATP offer Medical Insurance while in school? I’m single and healthy so it isn’t much of a concern for me, but I’m curious what those of you with families do for medical insurance?
Also, once you become a CFI is Medical Insurance offered as well?

No, ATP does not offer medical expenses to students or instructors. I recommend that you check into the Affordable Care Act to see about health insurance.

As far as I know, medical insurance is not offered as a student or
instructor. When I was an instructor I had federally subsidized insurance.
I paid $1/month for medical and dental.

How did you find your insurance and how do you qualify for federally subsidized insurance?

The Affordable Care Act requires everyone over the age of 26 to have their own health insurance. Since I was no longer able to be on my parent’s insurance and lived in the state of CA at the time, I got my health insurance through CoveredCA.

I used a short term insurance policy from State Farm, nowadays most people utilize insurance from the Affordable Care Act. Loans for ATP are not federally subsidized.
