Pharmacist to Pilot

Hi everyone! Bare with me a few moments here as I introduce myself and embark on this journey/join the many of you!

My name is Jack and I went to school and graduated with a doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD). I’ve been working for the last couple years as a grocery store retail pharmacist in the North East but have been working within the pharmacy industry in some fashion for the last 10 years. From cashier to manager to prescription insurance issues to irate customers, I’ve done it all.

This upcoming May I will be starting at the Baltimore location (Martin State). I could not be more excited. Now you might be wondering why is a pharmacist on this forum. Well I’ve always had a passion for aviation. My father has been a NetJets pilot for the last 25 years so that definitely could have something to do with it. Or it could be the always need for me to look up in the sky when I hear a faint but distinctive airplane engine roar and wonder where that plane is jetted off to. I’ve felt a gap during my career so far and after research and my discovery flight realized it was aviation.

I will try my hardest to document my journey so that others can utilize the knowledge I share to further themselves. Knowledge really is power.

I applied and accepted a position already in the Frontier Pilot Cadet Program.

I look forward to interacting with you all and if anybody has any questions about changing careers, the Frontier Pilot Cadet Program or just life in general please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanks!

Jack,

Thank you for the introduction. We would love to have you document your time in the program, it has been awhile since anybody has done that, but they are always very well received and appreciated.

The Frontier Cadet Program sounds like an amazing program, I look forward to hearing more about it.

Jack,

A fellow MTN-er, I’ll be starting there in June. Look forward to meeting you!

Jack,

Welcome aboard and thank you for the introduction, I have a few friends who went to school for PharmD.

MTN is a nice location; though I’ve never been on the ground, I’ve seen pictures and videos of the field. I’ve heard a lot of A-10 Warthogs come in-and-out of the airport there and it’s impressive to watch. You have plenty of time between today and May to complete your ATP Orientation videos and a lot of the Airman Knowledge Tests!

Whenever you get a chance please keep us posted on your progress. Please let us know if there is anything we can help or answer for you.

Hey Jack!

Pharm.D. here also and currently a student at Kansas City. For me, this was a childhood dream, but one that I never thought I would get to pursue. Keep us updated.
