December worked out better than expected! As a new hire going to my first holiday season as a junior pilot, I expected to work every holiday. Instead, I got most weekends off and picked up some short calls strategically and didn’t get used Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I got called about 4pm on Christmas Day for a 4 day trip starting the 26th about 5pm so I was thrilled.
In total, 13 days off, 40 hours of flying crediting 83 hours of pay with 4 commutes to base.

Yeah I got pretty lucky for my first December at United!
LSR= Long call reserve (12 hour callout)
SCR= Short call reserve (2 hour callout, must be converted by crew scheduling or picked up)
*labeled on the calendar as S04 is assigned or C18 means I picked it up
FDO- flexible day off, its a day off but if they needed me in the 3-5 for a 4 day trip they could have worked me in to that day on the 6th for some add pay
HDO- Hold day off, protected day off
The S04 was a 0400-1700 short call. The C18 was an 1800-0800 short call. Both times I commuted up and sat at my brother’s house about 20 mins away from IAD.
