I’m currently 15 and looking in to becoming a pilot. I was considering the military but after looking into it I don’t really want to do that. I obviously have 3 years to figure out what to do, but I was hoping that I could get some insight on whether to go to college or to flight school. And what degree to go for if its college. Being a pilot has always been a dream of mine and I hope to achieve that dream!

Kyle,
You do have some time to go, but it is always good to have a game plan early on.
Here are two really good resources that will help you:
The short version of these is that there are several paths to being an airline pilot, if your goal is flying for the majors, then your path needs to involve college. I personally recommend four years of college, then flight training. Your degree can really be in anything that you wish, as long as it is from a reputable school.
Take a look at those links and the FAQ section, there is some great information there. Let us know if we can help further clarify any of that.
Chris
Kyle,
We always recommend completing college first. And you can major in anything, preferably whatever you think you’ll use to fall back on just in case. Our reasons why we believe completing college first is the best option are found in the FAQ section.
