Will the tuition reimbursement at ATP work if I only go for my private pilot license? If not, can someone please explain the reimbursement program at ATP?
Christian,
You cannot only train for your Private at ATP. ATP offers professional pilot training for people who want a career in aviation. There’s basically 2 options, 1 from zero time and 1 if you already obtained your Private.
The Tuition Reimbursement is for ATP grads who completed the program and are now instructing for ATP. At approx. 500hrs ATP instructors can interview with a number of Regional airlines and if offered conditional employment the Regional will give them Tuition Reimbursement to help repay their loan (if they have one) or whatever else it’s needed.
Adam
Just to clarify. If a student didn’t take out the loan and paid out of the pocket, is he still eligible for Tuition Reimbursement?
Yes, he or she is still eligible for Tuition Reimbursement, the money will be paid directly to the student instead of to a lender.
Chris
That’s good to know.
Thanks Chris.
Are you required to be instructing until you reach 1500 hours to receive tuition reimbursement? Hypothetically, if you instructed until you reached 1000 hours but then had an opportunity to do something else for the remaining 500 hours, would you still receive the tuition reimbursement?
Tim,
The former. When you sign the Tuition Reimbursement contract, you are agreeing to instruct for ATP until you reach 1500 hours.
Tory
Ok. Thanks Tory.
