Is 47 years old to late to start a pilots career?
Not it’s not.

Richard,
No, you are not “too late,” but as Adam likes to say - the clock is ticking. I know two other individuals that started ATP in their mid 40’s and are now either operating at a P135 carrier as that is where they wanted to go.

Richard,
If you started this year, you could be at an airline by 49 and have a 16 year career. You could be a very senior captain at a regional or LCC or even get to a legacy and bid captain on a narrow body. All options could afford you a great quality of life.
