FAA 1st class medical

Bernardo,

The FAA review process can be rather lengthy and will probably be even more so in light of the current situation. I would be prepared to wait several months.

Chris

Bernardo,

It took me 8 months to finally get my medical certificate! It was stressful but worth it in the end. Good luck to you.

Tory,

Last time I wrote I was waiting on my hemoglobin results which I submitted came At 8.1 from 9 A1C which I was happy about. FAA sent me vision testing now. I got that done and it came to at 20/25 submitted that as well. Now just waiting to hear back and am a bit stressed that I might not get first class special issuance

Good luck, I was nervous about my first class, but didn’t have any issues getting it. It’s a big relief once you have it in your hand.

Nik,

Thanks for the update. You’re doing all the right things. I know the feeling. No sense in stressing about something outside of your control. You’ll find out soon enough.

Tory

Matthew’s right, once you have it, maintaining is should be much easier.

Thank you guys, hopefully in a month will find out and will you posted.

Thank you once again

Nik,

I will be curious to hear what the FAA has to say about your vision testing as 20/25. Please keep us in the loop.

Chris

Absolutely Chris, I check with FAA once a week. As soon as I hear something I will post.

Thank you!

It took me 5 months to finally get my medical. They claimed that my AME never sent the required documents for my diabetes condition and my AME claimed that they (FAA) lost it. After about 20 calls and one fax, they said they finally got it and it took another 2 months to get the certificate. Because it took so long, I was basically due for another follow up exam with the AME this month, but they are waiving those for a few months due to covid19, which is good because I can’t even get in touch with the AME to schedule one.

Seuk,

Thanks for the update, I am glad you got your medical.

Chris

Hi Chris,

As promised just giving an update on First Class Medical for Special Issuance. Happy to say that I just received it today and to be honest shocked but excited. Took 5 months but at the end all good.

Thanks Nik

That’s terrific news, Nik! Those 5 months probably felt like an eternity. Soon it will feel like it never happened. Do you have plans to take the written tests anytime soon? I highly recommend it.

Tory

Nik,

That is great news! So what is the next step for you?

Chris

Congratz! That’s huge!

Thank you and yes sir!! I left an email to Erik from ATP to see what next steps are. I do want to take those 3 tests or as many as I can. Just need to figure out where to begin.
