Is it guaranteed that you will sign with an airline with successful completion of the fast track pilot program?
Kadin,
Absolutely positively not! If you graduate from law school are you guaranteed a job? Medical school? Even truck driver school? Of course not. The fact is the world is experiencing a massive pilot shortage and virtually every person who successfully completes the training has their pick of jobs. This is an unprecedented time in this industry and the odds have never been better. BUT, ATP doesn’t know you. Maybe you’ve got some MAJOR blemishes on your record, maybe you busted every one of your checkrides, maybe you freeze up or behave badly during your interview. Frankly if you do well, have a clean record and conduct yourself like a professional there’s literally no way you won’t get hired but there a no guarantees ever.
Adam
Kadin,
ATP only guarantees a CFI job after completion of the program. An airline job is still on you to get. You can apply to an airline online just like everyone else or you can apply through ATP’s Tuition Reimbursement Program.
Tory
Tory,
Thanks for clearing that up. In your opinion what separates ATP from other flight schools? Especially when considering cost?
Kadin
You’re welcome. In my opinion, the syllabus and professional development opportunities set ATP apart from the other schools.
The syllabus is rigorous, just like ground school at an airline, and includes a crew cross country phase, also emulating a crew environment. That experience is invaluable.
The professional development opportunities are far superior than any other school. ATP has agreements with the most part 121 and 135 carriers. Most of them have some kind of tuition reimbursement program that CFIs at ATP can take advantage of. I did and it was a game changer.
Can you tell us more about yourself so we can help you better?
Tory
Kadin,
There are no guarantees in life. The airlines have their own hiring practices and standards and are free to hire who they wish. This is true of anybody graduating medical, dental, law school, etc. That being said, people who successfully complete the program with a good record, also have a good record outside of aviation and interview well have a very good chance of being hired at a regional airline.
Chris
Kadin,
In my mind what separates ATP is that they literally have decades of proven results and have trained thousands of people to be airline pilots. Also, the price they quote is an upfront price, whereas other flight schools quote prices based on minimums, which you are sure to exceed.

Tory & Chris
Thanks for both your input. I’m 21 and currently living in Alaska, my home state, where I am working to save up some money in order to reduce my loan amount that I will need to take out. But, I am planning to attend a flight school, most likely ATP, in August of 2019. I am just trying to make sure I have all my bases covered and am making the right decision for myself. So far, ATP is looking like the best option, mainly because of the tuition reimbursement and they have to opportunity for financing which is a must.
Kadin
Kadin,
Let us know how else we can be of assistance.
