How would I get a job at a major airline?

Hi!

I’m 13 and starting high school later this year. I’ve always wanted to become a pilot and eventually work for a major carrier. I also understand that the major airlines require a college degree. I would really love to go to ATP though. Would it be possible to go to ATP immediately after high school, get a job at the regionals, and get a college degree while I have that job? Also, which degrees would you recommend?

Unfortunately the minimum age for this forum is 16 so you really can’t participate. I recommend you do take a look at our FAQ section which will also answer many of your questions. To answer the ATP question he answer is no, to train with ATP you need either a degree, work experience or your PPL. We also don’t recommend it. The min age to fly for a Regional is 21 so you might as well remain and do well in school.
