June was a rather quiet month, sitting reserve most of the time, relaxing at home catching up with friends and family. I was able to do some renovation and improvements to my home during the time I sat reserve. Thankfully we were blessed with beautiful weather on the 3rd, my hometown airport had an Airport Open House that I was able to attend. Looking forward to my line that I was awarded in July, stay tuned for July’s schedule.

I think it’s because I’m at a smaller base, like really small… that not many reserves are used. My one classmate who holds a seniority number ahead of me got 4 3/4-day reserve trips this month. I’m hoping it’s just a little fluke in the timing, but I would love for more flying.
At least it sounds like you have a good hobby to keep you occupied! I’m honestly surprised they haven’t thrown you a trip here and there just to keep you flying and working towards your consolidation hours. I’ve felt pretty unused on reserve this month but I’ve flown around 35 hours. Do you have the opportunity to pick up open time on reserve? I managed to get a 2 day trip for OT in a 4 day stretch of days off to pick up some extra flying. On the bright side, you’ve had a month off to prep you for line flying! Good luck next month!
It’s tight… picking up trips, there are not many open. I’m hoping to keep holding more lines throughout the summer/fall. Captains are getting used like crazy here at Piedmont, tons of flying for them.
