Military Pilot

Quick question for transitioning military pilots…

I’ve been flying the P-8 for the USN for 5 years and have obtained a little over 700 flight hours. On my last board exam I did not pass to upgrade to a PPC. Due to timing and family changes I have decided to redesignate as a HRO officer for my remaining time left. I would like to get some hours flying privately on the side in hopes of applying to the airlines in a few years. I have a perfect record otherwise. I was wondering if there’s any programs for transitioning pilots or how my military hours will transfer ? Assuming these are favorable, how can I fly in the meantime to get hours?

Look up RTAG Nation on Facebook, Adam also posted a decent link. It is a group of a lot of military rotary to airlines guys. They’ll probably have the best information for you. I was not a flyer in the military but they’ve still provided a ton of great information for me and I’m sure they’re probably your best bet.
Good luck!

Finley,

This website is primarily geared towards civilian pilots. You might find other resources out there that are more pointed towards military folks.
